Jessi Alexander Biography

Jessi Alexander is an established American country music singer and songwriter. Her birth name is Jessica Leigh Alexander. She was born November 18, 1976, in Jackson, Tennessee. Her parents divorced when she was three. She grew up concurrently in both Memphis and Georgia. She found comfort in music during her distracting home life. She used to listen to the sounds of Motown, country, bluegrass, rock and roll from an early age. She dropped out of college to pursue music fulltime. She sang in bands while in college and worked as a backup singer and staff writer for Warner Chappell after dropping out of college.

She won NARAS Grammy Showcase in 2001 after a friend submitted her demo tape without her knowledge. This got her signed to Columbia and she released her hit ‘Honeysuckle Sweet’ in March 2005.

She also won the 2009 MTV Movie Awards ‘Best Song From A Movie’ with her box office hit “The Hannah Montana Movie”.

Jessi also won the “Song of the Year” at the 2013 CMA Awards with her hit “I Drive Your Truck”. Then won the 2014 ACM Awards and the 2013 NSAI Awards with the same hit song. The song was also nominated for a Grammy Award for “Country Song of the Year” in 2013.
