Amanda Davies Daughter

Sam and her husband are blessed with a daughter named, Molly (born in 2009). Nevertheless, Molly’s birth was puzzling. While presenting the sports news for BBC World, her mother Davies was seven months pregnant when her water broke. In an interview, she said, “It was the BBC World sports shift, which is well-known to be silent. I had not felt ok for
several days but couldn’t put my finger on it. A close friend who was 42 days ahead of me in pregnancy had stated it was usual to feel a bit damp, but I began to Google my symptoms, which was probably a bad idea.”

Then, Davies was hurriedly taken to Queen Charlotte’s at Shepherd’s Bush. Following an exclusive check-up, the doctors admitted her for observation and check her progress and emphasized that her child could be born early. For the next seven days, her water breakage didn’t occur, and eventually, she went into labor on 25 May 2009.

She added, “Several hours in, the baby’s heart rate was unusual and the physicians immediately rushed in and informed me they had to get her out at once. There was limited time for pain relief and I don’t recall anything but a feeling of panic.”

When the baby was finally out she recalls; “The cord was swaddled around her neck, and when we caught a glimpse of her through the crowd of doctors and nurses she appeared as if she’d gone ten rounds with Mike Tyson. I was shocked. My husband and I were dumbstruck– it’s not how you envisage seeing your newborn baby. People kept informing us, ‘It’s going to be OK’, but it’s difficult to believe. You just have to trust they are doing everything they can. And then, about five minutes after I’d conceived, a doctor said I needed emergency treatment.”

In conclusion, Davies remained in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) for 42 days. She had suffered massive bleeding. She also received breast milk for her baby from the milk bank, as she didn’t produce her milk until 14 days after the birth.
